Mission Possible Hygiene Kits
|
MP Recycling is a soap recycling enterprise that employs over ten at-risk women in the DTES. Hotels in the Lower Mainland and across Canada pay us to take their gently-used soaps and bottled amenities. Every year, 3.5 million children under the age of five die of hygiene-related diseases, a major concern that we have been able to address. We sterilize, recycle, and refurbish the soap before sending it to communities in need around the world, as well as to emergency shelters in Vancouver. In addition to a paycheque, the women we employ also get the opportunity to help others in need.
We have partnered with Disaster Aid, an organization sending our recycled soaps around the world to communities in need. Last week we sent soap to the Compassionate Warehouse in Victoria, and prior to that our soap went to Thailand, Afghanistan, and Swaziland (among others).
We have attached a few pictures of our ladies recycling soap as well as the soap kits that we send to Disaster Aid.
